Paradise is here

... on Alonissos island

On Alonissos nature is everywhere with a lot of greenery, olive and pine trees, flowers in the meadows in the spring, in the balconies in the Summer, beautiful beaches, white cliffs, ochre-coloured cliffs, the deep blue sea sparkling at noon time, goats and well-fed stray cats passing by.

Alonissos and the surrounding 8 tiny islands are part of the National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern Sporades. It is the largest marine protected area in Europe and cares for a series of species among which the Monk seal is the most famous.  The park is home to more than 500 species of fish, dolphins and, more rarely, sperm whales. Eleonora’s falcon, Audouin’s gull and many other birds can be observed in the hills.

Most tourist places are located on the East coast (don't miss the scenic Steni Vala) while the West coast (where the villa is located) remains more untouched and secluded.

Moving around

Hiring a car is essential as public transportation is very limited.

All places are within short distances.  The main road of the island is only

25 km long.  The secondary roads are generally unpaved and occasionally only dirt roads will be found.  Those can be uneven and stony but involve no risk.

The town of Patitiri hosts the harbour and all commodities and services you may need (food stores, pharmacies, medical practices, post office, bank, newspapers and so on).

Note that Villa Astrofegia is located 6 km from the port, at the very end of a small unpaved road.
